Bellarmine's Torrents presents:

The 1952 film Stars and Stripes Forever Original (Unofficial) Soundtrack
 - Mono FLAC 48Khz 16bit
 - Music by Alfred Newman (composer) & Leo Arnaud (orchestrator)
 - Compiled by Bellarmine from the audiotrack of the film - November 2019

This is one of my favorite films, starring Clifton Webb, and I think the musical arrangements by Alfred Newman are simply excellent. I always wished they had released a soundtrack for this movie, so after finding a good Blue-Ray rip of the film with HQ mono audio, I decided to make my own.

I took the film's audio track, and using Audacity, extracted, cut, faded in / out the various selections. This torrent is the result. It is not perfect, some tracks having varying amounts of talking / dialog, nothing I could do about that. However, most are quite enjoyable, and hope you enjoy the result of my (tasteful) editing...:o). Also added a lot of 'metadata' to the tracks.

I think the arrangements for the Washington Post, Sempere Fidelis, Stars & Stripes, and especially the Battle Hymn are among the best I have heard.

Here is a link to the excellent BluRay copy of the film, I can seed it if requested. The audio-track times in the filenames in my torrent tie-in to this BluRay rip. It is so sharp it is astounding, real high-quality near-1080p re-mastered MKV copy. If all you've seen so far is an old VHS rip like I had for many years, this will be a real treat:

- Bit of trivia:
The close up of the cornet player at 35m33s is Burt Meyers, Sousa's former principal cornet player, for 55 years the conductor of the Allentown Band, and the last man to see and speak to Sousa before he died in a hotel room in Reading, Pa, in 1932

Enjoy, and please Remember to Seed....:o) Thanks for looking!
